Mr. Olympia is the title awarded to the winner of the professional men's bodybuilding contest at Joe Weider's Olympia Weekend - an international bodybuilding competition that is held annually by the International Federation of BodyBuilding & Fitness (IFBB).[1] Joe Weider created the contest to enable the Mr. Universe winners to continue competing and to earn money.
The IFBB Professional League is the creation of the Brothers of Iron, Joe and Ben Weider. In 1946, Joe and Ben founded the International Federation of Bodybuilders. In 1965, Joe created the Mr. Olympia, the first IFBB professional bodybuilding competition. In 1975, the first Professional Committee was formed, with Arnold Schwarzenegger as Chairman. The Napoleonic Epoch is one of the most fascinating – and important – in history. Ben Weider recognized this, and founded the International Napoleonic Society to promote greater and more accurate understanding of Napoleon and his times. The INS is a nonprofit educational body that promotes the study of the Napoleonic Era in accordance with proper academic standards.
