Healthy Chocolate Chip Cookies




Ingredients:

Wet
•1 medium apple (chopped in a food processor)
•1/2 stick butter (melt slightly in the microwave)
•3/4 cup honey
•2 tsp. pure vanilla extract
•2 eggs

Dry
•1 1/2 cups whole wheat flour
•1 cup whole grain rolled oats (do not use quick oats, chop these oats in a food processor before adding to other ingredients)
•1/4 tsp. ground nutmeg
•1/4 tsp. cinnamon
•1 tsp. baking soda
•1 tsp. fine sea salt

Finishing touches
•1/2 cup of dark chocolate chocolate chips
•1/2 cup chopped walnuts




Directions:

Preheat oven to 350 degrees. 1. Mix wet ingredients in a large bowl and set aside. 2. Combine dry ingredients in another bowl. 3. Slowly combine wet and dry ingredients, and add in the finishing touches. 4. Drop spoonfuls onto a cookie sheet prepared with cooking spray 2 inches apart from one another. Bake for approximately 8-9 minutes or until lightly browned.
