1/2 lb. flank steak tenderized
1/2 cup teriyaki sauce
1 yellow onion
1 tb. olive oil
1 cup crimini mushrooms sliced
2 oz blue cheese
salt
pepper
1. Marinate the flank steak in the teriyaki sauce for at least thirty minutes. Grill over medium heat for approximately 10 minutes turning once. (depending on how well done you like your steak)
2. Heat oil over medium heat in a saucepan. Add the onions and turn frequently, continue this for approx. 15 minutes until onions become soft and lightly brown. Add in the crimini mushrooms, salt and pepper at this time. Continue cooking for approximately 5 more minutes.
3. Plating your meal...Steak served with onion/mushroom topped with blue cheese.
For a heart healthy carb consider adding quinoa to your meal.
